Solid waste management through the SWMP for industries and companies
The Solid Waste Management Plan – SWMP is a technical environmental document tailored to the specifics of each company. It contains actions and recommendations aimed at controlling all stages of waste generation, collection, storage, treatment, and disposal within a company
It aims to identify the generators, classify and quantify the waste, and describe the final disposal in compliance with current environmental legislation, being developed in accordance with Law No. 12,305 of 2010.
According to the National Solid Waste Policy (Federal Law No. 12,305/2010), the preparation and execution of the SWMP are mandatory for waste generators, who are responsible for the proper management of their waste; it can be requested in the licensing process of the activity of potentially polluting enterprises by CETESB and also for the release of a permit by the municipal environmental agency.
Scope of the SWMP service
Technical visit for diagnosis of the generated solid waste, including: origin, volume; conditions of segregation, packaging, internal and external transportation, storage, and methods of treatment and final disposal adopted.
Surveys related to: activity, types, and quantities of waste generated;
Survey of infrastructure conditions for storage;
Evaluation of recycling alternatives;
Propose methods of segregation, storage, and final disposal of the generated waste.
